Veterans’ Administration Chooses MediaNow for Auditorium Upgrades and Integrated Conference System — December 2012

Pineville, LA—When the Pineville, LA Veterans’ Administration needed auditorium upgrades, digital signage, IPTV and video conferencing, they knew that MediaNow could handle the job. With experience in designing and deploying systems for many VA hospitals and medical complexes, MediaNow took the challenge to create a fully integrated system with special features.

MediaNow installed a high-definition Christie projector, a 70” Sharp LED television/monitor, a sound system with audio mixers and microphones, as well as a VBrick teleconferencing system in the auditorium. Additional 42” and 32” Sharp LED televisions and 22” and 32” monitors were installed throughout the building as part of a central digital signage system. Receivers, transmitters and controllers make the entire system manageable from a central location. Scala InfoChannel5 provides a user-friendly solution for VA employees to create and manage content.

The unique feature of this system is that it is also fully capable of broadcasting over IPTV, meaning that the VA can conduct conferences, training, and even entertainment at the auditorium and broadcast it throughout the campus. In addition, they can also get programming from other sources to broadcast campus-wide. The integration of digital signage and teleconferencing with the ability to broadcast over IPTV is an emerging application for these technologies, and MediaNow is at the forefront of this new frontier. Not only does this system provide entertainment and information to patients who are confined to their rooms, but it also allows employees a way to keep informed or receive training without leaving their workstations.
